Job Description

12 Month Contract - Temporary

We are looking for someone who will be able to develop pathways for survivors to access education, training, volunteering and employment alongside assisting with housing options for stability as well as accessing and utilising specialist support agencies to provide greater opportunities and life chances to individuals. You will be based within our Housing Services Team and support the organisation to provide a Citywide Outreach service to Male Victims of Modern Slavery. You will ensure safe, efficient, responsive, sensitive holistic support service for victims of modern slavery (predominately male) in Birmingham to ensure individual safety and to develop future resilience. The service will provide emotional and practical support to individuals into post-NRM services and will be delivered face to face, via phone and via weekly drop-in services utilising community assets.

You will have experience of working with stakeholders such as community/ health services and education services to provide contact, advice and guidance to customers, this includes practical and emotional support e.g. Housing, food, safety, welfare rights, support through asylum process and criminal investigations, signposting to employment/education and training opportunities.

You will have a good understanding of the Welfare Benefits system, tenancy sustainment and experience of Housing and Support sectors.

In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise your workload accordingly.

The successful candidate will need to be able to work autonomously. Due to the nature of the role a driving licence and use of a vehicle to undertake site visits and attend group offices in Birmingham on occasion is required. You will also be flexible with your working hours to meet the needs of customers where appropriate.
