Action for Blind People
Action for Blind People (Action), a national charity founded in 1857, exists to “inspire change and create opportunities to enable blind and partially sighted people to have equal voice and equal choice”. Action achieves this through the delivery of supportive services for visually impaired people which encompass the following themes: Independence, Housing and Support; Financial Inclusion; Employment, Skills and Enterprise, (including Access to Work); Early Intervention; Children, Young People and Family Services; Leisure. These services are delivered by a network of 'Action Teams' comprising of experts in each of the services.
In 2009 we formed an association with the RNIB which allows both organisations to share skills and deliver services in line with the UK Vision Strategy and the RNIB Group Strategy. our mission is to inspire change and create opportunities to enable blind and partially sighted people to have equal voice and equal choice.
